People Over Politics
Our Community
Living and working in the 97th district, has given John Schmitz the experience we need in our community. While most politicians will promise things they can't fulfill, John has, and will continue to do the work, with or without help. The issues below, are the things John has seen and heard from in our community.
Addiction
Addiction is something we see every day on our streets. The homelessness, increased crime rates, and poverty in our community is not something we can turn a blind eye to. This problem demands a solution that lifts people up through community action, instead of government programs incentivizing this life style.
Education
We need to empower Indiana families to choose the education that is best for their children. Many children, like your children and grandchildren, have unique strengths and face individual challenges, and our education system must work to meet their needs so they can succeed in their future
Infrastructure
Most 97th district residents understand the never ending potholes and stop lights that aren't timed for easy traffic flow. This is not just a shortfall in funding, it's a shortfall of political will. John cares about our community and will put you first; not let some special interest dictate his work in the state legislature.
